We believe that a key to running a good business is doing good for society. Kellanova Better Days™ Promise is our commitment to advancing sustainable and equitable access to food by actively addressing the intersection of wellbeing, hunger, sustainability and equity, diversity and inclusion (ED&I). In doing so, we are committed to creating better days for 4 billion people by the end of 2030.
Sustainability, hunger, wellbeing and equity, diversity and inclusion are all interconnected. Our changing climate is impacting the health of people and reducing crop yields, leading to greater food insecurity. Many diverse and underserved communities are disproportionally impacted by climate change and now face higher barriers to health and access to nutritious foods. And these same communities are most at risk for hidden hunger as well as obesity.
For these reasons, one of the ways we are progressing towards our Kellanova Better Days™ Promise is by feeding 400 million people facing food insecurity by the end of 2030 through food donations and feeding programs for children.
Kellanova will report on our progress toward these commitments in our initial Social and Environmental Report that we will issue in 2025.
How Kellanova is feeding people facing food insecurity or crisis
According to the World Food Programme, the world produces enough food for everyone. Yet nearly 10% of people1 continue to struggle with hunger. That’s why we’re working towards United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) #2 – Zero Hunger, collaborating with others around the world to “end hunger, achieve food security and improve nutrition, and promote sustainable agriculture by the end of 2030.”
Until Zero Hunger is realized, Kellanova is leading in a myriad of ways. We’re doing our part to help feed people facing food insecurity or crisis around the world. We also continue to provide foods that nourish people and promote sustainable agriculture by nurturing our planet.
